Note From The WNYOA President:
Mark Davis wishes all WNYOA family &
friends a great 2012…
With 2011 behind
us and the banquet fast approaching I wanted to take a moment to reflect.
Three years ago I was asked by Ray Goulet to take his position as president of WNYOA as he felt it was time
him and Debbie retired. I talked him into staying a year longer than he planned. Cindy and I tried to lighten
his duties that year. This only postponed his retirement a year as he continued to believe that I could carry on where
he was leaving off.
Because of my true enjoyment
of riding and my wish to see WNYOA continue with the same growth it had been experiencing, I agreed to step up to Ray’s
challenge to become WNYOA’s next president.
My
first year, my goal was to have as few changes as possible. My second year we began to make small changes to “tweak”
the operations, all in hopes of improving WNYOA. This next year, I believe WNYOA will continue to grow but with a new
leader. During this past year Jeff Hart has worked very close with me, as he sees more of the riders on a daily basis
and was able to help us keep track of the riders’ thoughts. So at the operations meeting I will be “endorsing”
Jeff as the next WNYOA president.
I want
to thank you for allowing me to help guide the WNYOA operations. Over the past two years it was my intention to preserve
and grow WNYOA and we are always looking for new locations to expand our schedule with. All interested parties are always
inspected to ensure they will be a good fit for WNYOA riders and their families. If you know anyone with at least 300
acres of land, good parking and interested in holding a race on their property have them contact me or anyone of the leadership
team in WNYOA.
On another note: there are
many racing series out there for all of us to choose from, whether we rider solely in WNYOA or we ride in multiple series
like the GNCC, SHCS or the ECEOA series we have choices! Thank goodness there is a series that fits a rider’s
need and we can all get out and ride without bashing one another! Let’s have a great 2012.
